Rapeseeds and sunflowers seeds are the two main oilseeds Medara Agriculture deals with. We mainly originate these oilseeds from the Black Sea region (EU-Non EU). Through our strong network we source and commercialize the oilseeds for the crushing industry as well as for our trading partners.
Rapeseed is a bright-yellow flowering member of the family Brassicaceae (mustard or cabbage family), cultivated mainly for its oil-rich seed. Rapeseed is the third-largest source of vegetable oil and the second-largest source of protein meal in the world.
Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is primarily grown for both oil and seeds production. The seed of the sunflower has a high oil and protein content, and the crop is the world’s third most produced oilseed, the fourth most produced vegetable oil and the third oilseed meal among protein feed sources.
